Database Administrator (SQL DBA)

To £40,000 + Bonus 

Junior SQL DBA required for a global Food Manufacturing business, based in North Yorkshire. If you have either a years' experience in a DBA role or its part of your role as a Developer but want to specialise as an SQL DBA this could be a great role for you. 

The Company

My client is a global food manufacturing business, based in North Yorkshire. With a huge range of “household name” brands, they are actively seeking a SQL DBA to join their team.

Main Responsibilities 

• Maintain security access within the MS SQL environment
• Maintain the databases within the MS SQL environment
• Proactively monitor and responding to Alerts
• Troubleshot performance and connection issues within the MS SQL environment
• Monitor database maintenance scripts for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics
• Install cumulative\windows updates as necessary following change management policies 
• Perform database Ad-hoc backups and restores 
• Maintain SQL documentation

Experience Required 

• 1 years’ experience carrying out similar role or 2 years’ experience in Microsoft infrastructure role
• Have a good understanding of T-SQL
• Experience working with monitoring applications
• Experience working with SQL Server Management Studio
• Experience working using a service desk tool

It would also be great if you had experience in the following 

• Some experience of SQL Server availability groups 
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and disk configurations
• Experience using PowerShell 
• SQL Reporting Service experience 
• SQL Development experience
